General Manager of Primary Operations
Description
Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a full-time General Manager of Primary Operations who will be working in our St. Marys, PA location. This person will report to the Plant Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and direct all resources, including production supervisors, service supervisors and hourly employees to provide our customers with a high-quality part and delivered on time.
- Responsible to oversee all manufacturing activities within his/her cost centers. This includes but is not limited to staffing issues, scheduling, and monitoring performance to goals.
- Recommend capital needs and effectively implement capital programs.
- Assist the Vice President of Operations with the development of all budgets and monitor them to ensure business directives are met.
- Interview and approve the hiring of employees and supervisors within his/her cost centers.
- Direct and monitor continuous improvement efforts within his/her cost centers.
- Responsible for implementing the labor contract.
- Responsible for operation and upkeep of all related equipment, buildings and systems.
- Provide input on quotations as they apply to his/her cost centers.
- Regular review with employees and supervisors on company rules, policies and regulations. Provide interpretations when necessary.
- Assist in establishing departmental budgets as well as the business plan.
- Assist with the scheduling of production equipment and provide preventative maintenance support.
- Provide yearly salary appraisals and recommendations.
- Develop service and maintenance quotes.
- Responsible for special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exhibit good people skills and managerial experience.
- Thorough understanding of powder metal process.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
